Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net, primarily using one’s feet, although players can use any part of their body except their arms and hands (goalkeepers are an exception). The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end.

Football is known by different names in various regions; for example, in the United States and Canada, it refers to American football, while the term “soccer” is used to describe what most of the world recognizes as football. The sport has a rich history and is governed by international regulations set by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

Football is one of the most popular sports globally, characterized by its tactical complexity, athleticism, and passionate fan base. The sport includes various formats, such as association football (soccer), futsal, and beach soccer, each with its own specific rules and playing conditions. Football promotes teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness and plays a significant cultural role in many societies.
