Fútbol

Fútbol, commonly known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net. Players primarily use their feet to move the ball, but they can also use any part of their body except for their hands and arms, with the exception of the goalkeepers, who are allowed to handle the ball within their penalty area. The game is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Fútbol is one of the most popular sports globally, with millions of fans and players across various levels, from amateur to professional. It is played on a rectangular field called a pitch, which features a goal at each end. The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, and it is frequently associated with cultural and national identities around the world. Major international tournaments, such as the FIFA World Cup, showcase the sport at its highest level and draw significant global attention.
