Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each, where the objective is to score goals by advancing a ball into the opposing team’s net primarily using the feet, although other parts of the body may be used by players except for the goalkeepers, who can use their hands within a designated area. The game is played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, with goalposts at each end. Football is known as soccer in some countries, particularly in the United States and Canada, where “football” more commonly refers to American football. The sport is governed internationally by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) and is one of the most popular and widely followed sports globally, with numerous leagues, competitions, including the FIFA World Cup, and a rich history. Football emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, and it has a significant cultural impact in many countries, often serving as a source of national pride and community identity.
