Premier League 2

Premier League 2 is a professional development league for under-23 football players in England, operated by the Premier League. It was established in 2016 to provide younger players with competitive experience and facilitate their progression to senior football. The league features teams affiliated with Premier League clubs and some from the English Football League, allowing clubs to field their youth talent against similarly aged opponents. Premier League 2 includes a league format as well as a knockout cup competition, aiming to enhance player development through regular matches, coaching, and exposure to higher levels of competition.
